  • Update

    Hey Everybody,

I know it has been a while since I posted a new song to this page.  I apologize to all my subscribers for the hiccup.  Tour took a lot more out of me than I had expected!  It was a great journey through Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark and Sweden), but to suddenly jump back into recording and producing a new song every week was fairly impossible.  For those of you who are subscribed, I did recently create a new folder which contains 34 for of the 50 songs I promised to release this year.  We also recorded 3 new ones in NYC right before we flew out of the country.  So that puts me up to 37 so far this year!  I’m working on 8 songs with my band 23 Psaegz, and the other 5 will be done in my home studio.  My thought at this point is that it will probably all get done in January or maybe early February.  I forgot to account for life and rest when I created the goal of 50 songs in a year.  It’s quite a bit of work.  I hope you’ll all be patient and realize I’m just one man!!

So, after I get the 50 done, you will still have the opportunity to vote for which songs you like best and what will go onto the final album, but I’m thinking it might end up being two albums, one for the 23 Psaegz and one of my solo work in the home studio.  There’s so much good material, and it is all so varied in style and production!  I plan on continuing this subscription project but expanding it.  I’ll be opening it up to some other websites (although this one will always be my priority, releases etc. will be here first), and I’ll begin a year of video making.  I plan on making music videos for the top 5 songs from this year’s productions and also begin work on my puppet rock opera, which will eventually be a full length movie, but I’ll be releasing it in short webisodes over the course of the year.  So, please spread the word!  This has been a great boon to my creativity and inspiration.  I hope we can keep on with it and even make it grow!!

Here are some PHOTOS from the European tour, enjoy!!!

    All the best,

    Seth

  • Song #25 – Video Games With Real Guns **FREE SONG**

This is one of those songs that come out easy, and I don’t really give much thought to until I start playing it over and over again when suddenly I realize their true power to move me.  I love this one a ton.  That’s why I’m giving it away for free to the general public.  I hope you will all enjoy it as much as I do!  Special thanks to 23 Psaegz for all their work preparing the songs and recording them at Blackdog Recording Studios in Rochester, NY.  There were seven songs in total we recorded during these sessions, and I’ll be releasing them over the course of the next few weeks.  Enjoy!!

When the wrecking ball makes all come down

When you’re standing in your destroyed town

You take picture on your phone

    Send it to the drones

    Send it to the clones

Perhaps the pic will end up viral

    Thousands will pretend they care

Your pain and grief will make you famous

But you’re still standing there, dust collecting in your hair

Till you finally start to walk away

Everywhere you go they think you’re homeless

That’s not exactly what you are though

Your home was destroyed, and now you’ve nowhere to go

Into the mountains where you’re looking down

See it’s happening to every town

People doing it are playing games

Video games with real guns, and don’t say it ain’t a shame

So you attempt to bring them back

    To reality through desperation

They cannot see the lives they take

Sat at a desk with numbers spilling out of their hands

Your vision grows across the world

Finding its way to all the boys and girls

They spill into the streets in numbers too large to contain

But are they desperate as you?

It’s not the numbers but the drive inside

You’ve got to show them that the fight is alive

Got break the shell of protected ignorance

Expose the innocence and teach the clone how to cry.

Seth plays acoustic guitar and loop station. From California, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, John Ludington from Absynth Quintet, a critically acclaimed gypsy-grass band, “…the lovechild of Beck and Frank Zappa…” Seth and John toured Europe in 2013 with their collaborative project, Forest Creature. Shaun Jones from Heck Yup, will be gently shredding electric guitar. Laura Lee Jones wearing an old washboard will tinker with auxiliary percussion & provide voice and theremin melodies. Beat professor, drummer extraordinaire, Dominic Marini is on his maiden voyage with Faergolzia.

The freak-folk group will be performing a full and varied cross-section of the peerless oddball music that has delighted and baffled audiences, collaborators, and critics alike for over a decade. Faergolzia will continue to shake musical conventions, making moments honest and organic in their exploration of possibility.

  • Song #21 – Truest Blood (FREE DOWNLOAD!!!)

So, it’s been a bit since my last posting.  I have had a lot on my plate, booking a European tour not only for my band but also for my friend Danielle Ponder.  It’s a crazy time with tons of time on the computer.  I figured since I put out 4 songs in May, I could take a week to focus on these other things in my life which are getting neglected.   Now I’m back with a vengeance!  This song, Truest Blood was a blast to produce.  I always wish I had more time to go deeper into it, but for now this is what you get, and I think it’s pretty awesome.  It’s nice to have a job which gives me such great pride and brings joy to others.  I only wish we could all have jobs of this sort… perhaps we can.  Without further ado…

Die, and my heart will ache
ain’t no curing that awful ache
please don’t ever, please don’t go away
don’t think I could handle the pain

    here is my healthy heart
    coupled with a frantic mind
if you don’t mind the way I spend my days
    I’ll gladly, though weirdly
I’ll gladly spend my days with you
    I’ll gladly, though weirdly
I’ll gladly spend my days with you

    clear as a crystal pond
where you go fishing with a magic wand
the game you catch try to create a bond
with you they’re melding your mind

    here is my healthy heart
    coupled with a frantic mind
if you don’t mind the way I spend my days
    I’ll gladly, though weirdly
I’ll gladly spend my days with you
    I’ll gladly, though weirdly
I’ll gladly spend my days with you

    in here you are
in my heart where doth flow truest blood
    cannot go further in
    this is all I know

    in here you are
in my heart where doth flow truest blood
    cannot go further in
    this is all I know

This, this is all I know
I hope you see that I’m a simple man
please don’t expect me to have complex thought
    I’m a simple man, it’s true

    Please don’t ever go away
I don’t wanna have to live a day
    without the love you give
    don’t take it away
I see your eyes of blue

    I’ll gladly, though weirdly
I’ll gladly spend my days with you
    I’ll gladly, though weirdly
I’ll gladly spend my days with you

    Clear as a crystal pond
where you go fishing with a magic wand
    here is my healthy heart
    coupled with a frantic mind
if you don’t mind the way I spend my days
    I’ll gladly, though weirdly
I’ll gladly spend my days with you
    I’ll gladly, though weirdly
I’ll gladly spend my days with you

    in here you are
in my heart that doth flow truest blood
    cannot go further in
    this is all I know
    this is all I know
    this is all I know.

  • Extra for Song #20 – Garbage Night (Percussion-only version)

GARBAGE NIGHT (PERCUSSION-ONLY VERSION) – © ⓟ 2014 Seth Faergolzia, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

This is a track built entirely from cool pieces of metal which I’ve collected over the years. I am a strong believer in reusing what we have rather than creating more, in regards to keeping our environment in tact for the future of our race. Part of what I do in my daily life is to attempt to use less by collecting what others leave behind. I suppose that makes me sort of a scavenger, but I think it’s great! I have pretty much furnished my entire house with things I’ve found. There are things which were given to me and a couple things I’ve actually bought, but I generally only buy used things. blah blah blah.

I used all this percussion stuff from years of collection and finally made samples of them all. I will probably make the sample suite available to the public as well, following this project. My daughter helped me record all the little sounds which make up my collection. She and her best friend also did me the favor of singing backup on the chorus for the full song (which I’ll be posting in the next day or two)… I think they’re cute as cute can be. I had trouble not putting every little noise they made on this recording. Everything a little child does is pure gold!

I was listening back to this without vocals and without other instruments, and I just had to share it with you all. I just love the groove of it, and when you hear the song it goes with, you’ll be like, “how does that fit the song?” … but somehow it does. 🙂

  • Song #18 – A Monster On the Radio

    **SUBSCRIBE**

Running a bit behind this week, friend, but I have still gotten the song completed and feeling good about it!  18 songs so far!  Oh my!  I had no idea how difficult this project would be, but I’m finding my way through, and learning a ton about myself as an artist and about how to craft a good recording.  I think the knowledge I gain through this year of labor will make me the artist I’ve yearned to be for years!  Struggling to keep up because I’ve started two new projects this week in addition to the song project.  I’ve added a horn section to the 23 Psaegz band and have begun rehearsing them, and I’ve started work on the puppets for my rock opera, which we are planning on premiering at the end of this summer at the Purple Pig Music Festival.  Here’s a pic of 2 puppet designs:

    image-3

I highly suggest booking a ticket and making the journey.  We will be performing all three nights of the festival with our 8 foot puppets!!  It’ll be spectacular!!!  That’s why I’m running late this week…. better late than never though!  and with such a good song.  I really have grown to love this one as I’ve gotten to know it better these past few days.  I hope you will love it too!!

    An elephant and a clown
Silly Billy monkeying not wearing a frown

And as they set off on it
    They knew each carried each

    A pickle on the radio
And a buck for a dozen
    Gonna make it yo
Give a shout out to my cousin
    On the radio
    On the radio
    On the radio

    Yo Cuz!  Here I come
    Jump in the sun
    I be making a run
    We’ll be having some fun
    Here in the sun
    I feel at one
    With my future and past
What I am and what I’ve not done yet

    A pickle on the radio
And a buck for a dozen
    Gonna make it yo
Give a shout out to my cousin
    On the radio
    A monster on the radio

    Everyone is helpless
All falling and subject to it
    Draw a perfect circle
Somehow you would say it too
    Everything is perfect
    Everyone is helpful
    Anything is possible
    Any ice is popsicle

    An elephant and a clown
Silly Billy monkeying not wearing a frown

    Everything is perfect
    Anything is possible
    At least the fact
    That nothing isn’t probable

    A monster on the radio
    I made it, yo
I put my mind to it
And I’m in the throes of an awesome blow
    Goes nice and slow
The rhythm, we somehow already know
    No practice, nothing to know
    Just go and go
    A determined man, I’m a determined man
    A determined man, I’m a determined man
    I have a plan
    Spreading kindness ‘cross the land
    I’m like the bearded oaf
In the wizard movie you can’t help but vote for
    Because his soft-hearted nature
Is somehow naive yet endearing for sure
    I really believe
I really believe in it, really believe in it.

  • Song #13 – Rucubrious Bundle

Pleasure! Delight! Gratitude! It has been a very busy week in my life, playing 4 shows and releasing this song, it’s a wonder I stay sane. The way it happens is because I’m doing what I feel meant for. It’s a wonderworld. Welcome to Miscellaneous April! I will be releasing random songs rather than the themed months (with computer, then band stuff, then loop stuff thus far) This song, I hope you’ll enjoy. It’s one of the only ones I’ve written and recorded solely with the computer. Gotta get outside with my daughter, it’s the first warm day! Enjoy!

Hey pretty girl you’ve been driving me crazy
There’s a sun and it’s showing in your eyes
Me, I’m making up a story with the hope to tell it
In the hope, in the hopes that you’ll smile

Once upon a moment in time under the bottles
Toddler bobbled to and fro bumping into events
Body made of rubber, mental full of love
Mental full of love I am not wearing gloves

Push a pin into a bottle cork and stop it up
They held the market up, they stopped the market up
Push a pin into a city on a map and prop it up
    A city isn’t very much

Hey pretty girl you’ve been driving me crazy
There’s a sun and it’s showing in your eyes
Me, I’m making up a story with the hope to tell it
In the hope, in the hopes that you’ll smile

Hey pretty girl you’ve been driving me crazy
    There’s a hope, there’s a hope in your eye
Me and you ought to be having a baby,
Just waiting for the time that’s right

Hey pretty girl you’ve been driving me crazy
    There’s a hope, there’s a hope in your eye
You and me have a story, we have yet to tell it
But I hope in the hopes that you’ll smile

Push a pin into a bottle cork and stop it up
They held the market up, they stopped the market up
Push a pin into a city on a map and prop it up
    A city isn’t very much

With a pin in hole, make a dice roll
Sometimes you feel whole, sometimes you feel old
    Not finding any gold,
That’s when you have to take a hold and declare it as your own!

Hey pretty girl you’ve been driving me crazy
There is hope and hope never dies
You and me, together we stand, the strength of we
And we take it to a distant land
Raise your rifle up and play the song of the glad

Push a pin into a bottle cork and stop it up
Push a pin into a city on a map and prop it up
    A city isn’t very much

Hey pretty girl you’ve been driving me crazy
    There’s a hope, there’s a hope in your eye
Me, I’m making up a story with the hope to tell it
In the hope, in the hopes that you’ll smile

Hey pretty girl you’ve been driving me crazy
There’s a sun in your eyes
Me, I’m making up a story with the hope to tell it
In the hope, in the hopes that you’ll smile
