  • Song #41 – Fever Love Arrival ready for listening!

Well hello there, my fine friends!  It’s great to be back home after a long journey overseas touring Europe.  Fever Love Arrival is the first song I’ve gotten ready for you upon my return.  Tremendous thanks to all the many, many people who came out to support us on our tour through Germany, England, Scotland, Austria and Switzerland.  We played many fine shows and met amazing people in beautiful places.  Wow.  I’m still dumbfounded at the great reception we received.  Regrettably, I have not been able to get much work done on the song project, but we are definitely nearing our end!  I’ve begun a new subscription site on Patreon!  Though I will continue to run this site and put my work up on here for you all, I’m shifting slowly over to that site for my upcoming couple years of video work.  My first project will be to make a video for the song Garbage Night.  If you are interested to know more about the Patreon thing, check it out HERE!

    The song:

This new song, Fever Love Arrival, is one of my favorites, but they’re all my favorites, my little babies!!  Hehe… this one is quiet and peaceful, filled with a welling up of love passion, expressed in a way I’ve not made music before.  I hope you’ll all give it a listen and download it too!  The song was recorded as part of the Multibird Kilgore Sessions at Kilgore Sound NYC.  John Kilgore is a Grammy Award winning engineer and producer.  He and co-producer Jim McElwaine were a pleasure to work with.  Both producers are seasoned veterans at recording and made us youngsters feel very comfortable through something that can often be quite uncomfortable to do.

I’d like to give a shout of thanks to my bandmates Shaun Jones, Stan Martinelli, and Dominic Marini for their extremely hard work through this last month, playing 29 shows with me in 6 different countries!  I’ll have to go through and calculate the number of miles we just traveled.  I’m sure it was in the thousands.  Most noteworthy was headlining the Hunsruck Festival in Germany… though all of our shows were superb, Hunsruck lasted the longest and the audience was insane and huge!  People were writhing and dancing and screaming and they were right there with us on an amazing journey.

We are headed back over to Europe for shows in the UK and Germany from October 5-19.  I’m back to work at the booking desk one last time before the coming baby in November!  Wish us great luck with the release of High Diver on record label Blang in London.  All the songs come from the #100songs project so it is in great part thanks to your support that this album has come to fruition.  The label is already interested in a 2nd album featuring Multibird!!!  Yay!!  Thanks folks.  I’ll try and make another posting very soon with a great many featured moments from our tour.  Till then, enjoy!!

  • Song #39 & #40 – Best That I Can & Cruel Empire

I love you guys.  Just so you know.  It continually hits me that I have continuous support from a tight knit group of people who actually respect my work as an artist.  I wish there were more of you sometimes, but I’m certainly thankful for the few true blues!!  Here are two songs!  More to come in the near future.  I’m leaving for tour next week so things are a bit of a scramble for me right now.  I hope you’ll all enjoy these tidbits!  Wish I could write more… these two songs sort of explain themselves though 😉

  • Song #37 – Desk Away

Desk Away is a special song.  It is not part of the #100songs project, but I’m giving it to you all for being such patient subscribers!  I’m headed to two different studios in the coming weeks and should be done with the songs for the project by mid-February.  There will be more than the 50 I promised because I’m giving you all some unreleased material from a few years back as well.  I wrote this when my friend Payton Marovich first moved in with me a few years back, just after the conclusion of my 13 year project, Dufus.  Payton and I have become close friends and have inspired eachother musically and recorded on each other’s projects.  Pretty cool how music can make us friends.  He and I met through my music when he was living in Flagstaff, Arizona.  He moved here and has since been creating awesome music under the name Paxtor. I suggest checking it out!  This one was recorded by 23 Psaegz in an early incarnation.  This is an old pic going along with it, though I’m not sure if it has many of the same members or not… I forgot to write it down!

    Where the body goes, known
Where the mind goes, nobody knows
Weaving a string in and out of your toes
Wrap all around you up to your nose

Traveled around the world on a cloud
Now that I’ve seen the whole way around
    Found myself on the ground
Sound through the mountains, shouting aloud,

“I’m away from my desk, far away from my desk”

When you were born your mind was pure art
They tossed you around, gave you a name
Told you no one’s the same
    You’re special, you’re different
I see that clearly, pure magic
I see you with stars and sparkles all in your eyes

“I’m away from my desk, far away from my desk”

Opening my ears, a hidden message
    Muddied with noise and conversation
What to do? Who to be? Who to love? What are we?

Where will take this crazy old world
Where will you take us you crazy old girl
    Will this spinning ever end
And where will it land, where will it land?
    Where will it land?

“I’m away from my desk, far away from my desk”

Stay away, stay away, stay away, stay away

  • Song #36 – Song for Grandma “Bea”

This was a bit of a difficult year for my family. Last year, while in the middle of the songwriting project, my grandmother passed away.  She was a wonderful woman, and I wrote her a little song to be played at her funeral.  My grandfather passed about a year later, just like they say happens.  Both very crafty and hard working, generous people.  They lived long, healthy lives.  I was glad to know them.

  • Song #35 – Woggy Woeggy Gwoo – 100songs

Happy New Year 2016 to all my 100songs subscribers!  What an experience this year has been.  We are all growing and learning… always learning if we allow for it in our lives.  I know as I grow older, the tendency to grow more stubborn and think that I know what’s right grows and shrinks simultaneously.  In my twenties I felt strongly that the revolution I dreamed up was the right one for the human race.  What I soon learned was that the rest of the human race was thinking differently and there was no single way for all of us.  Its freeing to learn that you don’t actually have to be the one to single-handedly save the world.  The world may need saving, but we can all only do our singular part.  I aim to live right by those around me and to make conscious choices rather than blindly accept what’s placed before me by the media machine and every other controlling giant in this world.  My little rebellion might make huge waves far in the distant future, just as many others in our history.  Only time tells truly.

This song #35 of 100songs, entitled Woggy Woeggy Gwoo, was a heck-of-a-lotta fun to make with Laura Lee Jones.  We took turns putting our ideas forth… what it yielded was superior weirdness!  I think it needs and can have no explanation, really.  Just give it a listen and let me know what you think!  I hope your year was wonderful and that this upcoming one grants great growth gregariously upon your wonderbrow.

  • Song #34 – Young and Beautiful

This is one of those songs that I feel shy about showing people and really self conscious about because it is kind of like other songs that exist already.  It’s also a love song, and I guess I feel sometimes weird about sharing my love for one person with the world… I grew up in a home that was moderately affectionate and has grown more affectionate over the years, but I think I was made to feel a bit guarded about outward love declaration.  Anyway, here it is, and I’ve even put a picture of the woman it was written for.  Laura has been an incredible benefit in my life, a person who I feel deeply for and work well with, a difficult combination to find!  Anyway, I think the song says it much better than I can in this typed out form.  I hope you all will enjoy it.  This is another one from the Blackdog Sessions.  Thanks to Dominic and Stan (my bandmates) for continuing to push me into playing this one and making me feel a bit more comfortable with a public declaration of my feelings… and, of course, thanks Laura for inspiring me all the time!

Young and Beautiful – – © ⓟ 2014 Seth Faergolzia, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

    I’m going home
Even if I have to go alone
If no one I know is there
I’m gonna look in the places where
I would hide when just a child

    Where we…
    Where we grew up together
    Friends bound in the pleasure
In the playground where we first kissed
At night alone in the moonlight
Turn around and that feeling enters my heart and ignites

    Oooo
    You young and beautiful
    Our bodies the same
Move through you, you move too
    I wander through these places
    Remember all the faces

    I’m going home
After all of the places I’ve roamed
    Been all around the world
    Thousands of dreams have unfurled
But I want to turn around
    And go to

    Where we grew up together
    Friends bound in the pleasure
In the playground where we first kissed
At night alone in the moonlight
Turn around and that feeling enters my heart and ignites

    Oooo
    You young and beautiful
    Our bodies the same
Move through you, you move too
    I wander through these places
    Remember all the faces

    And if you’re looking closer
You might fall in the habit
    Of running barrel over
When you try and grab it
The past is gone, you can never get back
But you can still go home, man
You’re running away from the home that you’ve got
Instead of adding a page to the plot

    I’m going home
Cuz I don’t wanna be alone
    Coming home to you
I know that’s what I’m supposed to do
Instead of hiding like a child
    We will grow up together
    Friends, bound in the pleasure
To the playground where we still kiss
At night, alone in the moonlight
Open up, and that feeling enters my heart

    Oooo
    You young and beautiful
    Our bodies the same
Move through you, you move too
    I wander through these places
    Remember all the faces

    You, young and beautiful
    You, young and beautiful
    You, young and beautiful
    Our bodies the same.

  • Song #32 – Mistrust Is Mechanical (#100songs)

Oh yes, the end is clearly in sight!  We’ve been at this project all year round.  So many people I’ll need to thank publicly at the end of this all.  It’s been wild and painful, but mostly inspired and progressive!  I’ve learned so much as an engineer, producer and songwriter as I look backward over this year.  I regret slightly that I have not been able to get all 50 songs completed by my January deadline, but we have been working!  Not to worry!!  We’ve managed to rehears 7 newbies with the 23 Psaegz and another 5 with a smaller form of the band which is tentatively being called Multibird… or VsVvs…. or Faergolzia… any votes?  comment below!  We’ll be recording at the end of January at Blackdog with the 23 Psaegz, and I think we will be recording in NYC sometime in February again at John Kilgore Sound, where we recorded with Faergolzia during our tour in September which took us to Europe.

This song was recorded here in my studio and also at Gil Mortio’s place in Brussels, Belgium.  He’s an awesome musician whose project name is Joy As a Toy.  Check em out!!  I sent Gil a rough, lo-fi recording of my voice and guitar and he did everything else.  It’s a pretty wild interpretation of my original sketch.  I love that, you know, like when a person takes what you said and turns it into something which is totally different but still allows you to maintain your original point.  I think I’d call this mutuality with individualism, a lovely combination, revolutionary, really.

    put it in a pigpen

    zip it in a ziplock
take it to the pick pock
it would seem that mistrust is mechanical
    response to environment biological
when i breath this mistrust build a globule
spittle in the middle of my throat, botanical
    seems mistrust is… mechanical

piddle in the middle of a boat in monaco
    needle in a haystack
put it in a back pack
take a piddle on the roof rack
    pick pocket payback
there’s a nickel on the dashboard
    plastic figure of his lord
    prays to it every day
stole my wallet just the same
it would seem that mistrust is mechanical
    response to environment biological

it would seem that mistrust is mechanical

  • Song #31 – Be Awesome

This has become my mantra.  This and other concepts like it.  The self doubt I’ve gone through during my career as a musician and my experiences socially in the public sphere are over.  I’ve decided very deliberately to be my best self at all times, that way, people see the real me and better things continue to happen.  I think often we can doubt ourselves because we are afraid of success or afraid that people will pay attention to us… and what if we can’t match up to their expectations of us??  Yikes!  That can be intimidating, but I’ve decided that rather than being intimidated by what could or could not happen, I will be who I am, and the people I’m meant to know will be attracted to that self, and the people I’m not meant to know will fall off like dead leaves.  It was really hard to take control of my life in this way.  I still falter, but I maintain a focus on the idea of really being awesome, owning whatever it is I say or do, really owning it.  That’s what this song is about.  It’s recorded at Black Dog Studios in Rochester, NY with my tuba player friend, Brett Gobe.

Be Awesome – © ⓟ 2014 Seth Faergolzia, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

When you’re getting in an uncomfortable place
They can all tell by the look on your face
    You’re uncomfortable, you feel uncomfortable

Looking at your chin instead of the face in your face
They know you’re not feeling wonderful
    Makes ’em uncomfortable
What I’ve got to say is:
Be awesome, be awesome, be true, be true
Just love it, don’t leave it, be you be you be you!

    And you’re paranoid, you’re overparanoid
You’re oh so paranoid, you look annoyed
    Making such a spectacle
At the festival where you lost your testicle
You were tested and you’re actually acceptable
So get out of the void

Be awesome, be awesome, be true, be true
Just love it, don’t leave it, be you be you be you!

    The challenge is your mind
The challenge is your own mind own mind own mind
Cuz when you use your brain
    Nothing stays the same
You can get stuck for miles and miles of rain
When you’re getting in an uncomfortable place
Try to think of the look on your face
Make it comfortable, make it comfortable

Be awesome, be awesome, be true, be true
Just love it, don’t leave it, be you be you be you!

  • Song #30 – Quing

Quing is definitely one of our band favorites to play with 23 Psaegz… also with Faergolzia.  This recording comes from the Black Dog sessions, of which you’ll be hearing more and more of in the coming month and half till the completion of this step of the project.  Pretty exciting to give you all these songs!  I hope ya like it as much as we do!

Each day live to the limit
No way the man’s gonna bring me down
Ooo tell me can you hear the sound of your rushing heartbeat

And when your body combines with the sun
And time is endless for everyone
See the pointlessness of the complaints of the world
We are the bigness, the isness, not the bizness

I ride these fields with you Johnny
I bought these cookies for your tummy, alright
This fields got me feeling alright
And we’ve miles to go yet

I try to feel for my money
No legs to feel, but I’m feeling alright
This feel’s got me fielding all night
    And the drumbeat goes like…

    Guh, guh guh

And when your body combines with the sun
And time is endless for everyone
See the pointlessness of the complaints of the world
We are the bigness, the isness, not the bizness

The world has somehow gone horribly wrong
and when you’re singing a horrible song
Remember we’re not here for so very long
    Sing your horrible song
    Sing your horrible song
    Sing your horrible song, oooo

    Hey now blue rider
    Quing of the night
    Riding all across the sky

It beats many times every minute
It’s like a clock when you’re in it
Loud, oh tell me can you hear the sound
    Of your rushing heartbeat

And when your body combines with the sun
And time is endless for everyone
See the pointlessness of the complaints of the world

  • Song #28 – Thank You Computer

This is a special song, not only because it’s cool, but also because my daughter helped me write it!!  She made up the chorus “Thank you computer” a few years back when we were just hanging around.  She’s come up with so many cool musical ideas over the years.  23 Psaegz and I recorded this one at BlackDog Studios in Rochester, NY… the same place in which we plan on completing this year’s song quota with another awesome cluster of tunes!  Enjoy!

    Thank you computer
It will take a while before we understand the way that you do it
But when our minds do comprehend we bust right through it

It’s waiting on the other side for you
    Anticipating, particle collide, pixelated eyes

    Thank you computer

Take a look into the lives of our common friends
Start to understand the land of minds

It plays to create imagination lines
Rays of thought beam, particle collide, pixelated eyes

Rays of thought beaming from the crown of you
Rays come from the crown of those around
Rays are beams of light which make up up all of around of you
Rays of thought beaming from the crown of you
